MASHICO（マシコ）は、栃木県芳賀郡益子町周辺を産地とする伝統的工芸品 益子焼（ましこやき）の陶器ブランドです。

江戸時代末期1853年に大塚啓三郎により始まる益子焼は、1924年に近現代の日本を代表する陶芸家 濱田庄司の作陶により民芸品として発展を遂げ、今日に至ります。

重厚で落ち着いた艶感、ざっくりとした素朴な肌触り、温かみのある風合いを持ち味とする益子焼。
益子の土の魅力を引き立てる伝統的な益子の釉薬と技法により、ひとつひとつ手作りで作り出されています。

益子を”今”の暮らしの中に。
益子の職人に受け継がれる伝統と技術を大切に、暮らしの中で使われることによって輝く、ふだん使いの器 益子焼の魅力を MASHICO に込めて発信して参ります。

MASHICO is a pottery brand from Mashiko, Tochigi, a famous area for the origin of traditional craft products, Mashiko-Yaki (pottery).

At the end of the Edo Era (1853), Mashiko pottery was founded by Keisaburo Otsuka. It has now become a renowned pottery in Japan, after the works of a leading modern potter Shoji Hamada, who has developed Mashiko pottery into a folk handcraft.

Mashiko pottery is characterized by its dignified and calm glaze, rough, but simple texture, and warm appearance. In order to bring out the best of Mashiko clay, each product is handcrafted using traditional techniques and glaze.

Integrating Mashiko pottery into contemporary daily life. This is our wish, that MASHICO will brighten everyday life as a casual pottery ware, with the treasure of the traditions and techniques of the Mashiko craftsmen.

[お取扱い上のご注意]
・ご使用前に、ぬるま湯や米のとぎ汁に浸してからご使用いただきますと茶渋・しみ等が付きにくくなります。
・洗浄の際は手洗いにて、水気をしっかり拭き取りよく乾燥の上、収納ください。
・長時間のつけ置き洗いはお避けください。吸水性がある素材のため破損の原因となります。
・貫入というひびのような模様が現れることがありますが、陶器特有のものでひびや割れではありません。
・直火やオーブンでのご使用はお避けください。電子レンジ使用可。

[Directions for handling]
⚫︎Before the first use, soak the pottery in warm water or rice washing wastewater, in order to prevent from stains.
⚫︎After use, wash the pottery by hand and dry completely before storing.
⚫︎Because of its high-water absorbency, do not leave the pottery soaked in water for a long time as it might cause breakage.
⚫︎Crack pattern that might appear on the surface is the characteristics of potteries, and they are not defective.
⚫︎Do not use in oven, or heat on an open fire. Microwaveable.
